On August 15th Sam and Louise from England got married at the Double Spear Ranch.
They have been returning guests and friends for a number of years now.
2 years ago, Sam proposed to Louise on one of our camping trips into the Big Horn Mountains. They decided then, that they would like to marry here as well and bring their friends and family to Montana, so that they would see and understand their love for the land, the animals and the people.
We felt honored to cater this wedding, which was very special to us and many others!
But it was not only their family and friends from England that came, there were those from all corners of the world (and of course around here) – who Sam and Louise had met here and become friends with – that were invited, followed the call and ready to join the party!
Most of them arrived 2-3 days earlier and everybody was hands on deck!
With so much help the preparations couldn´t go wrong.
And it ended up perfect in every way.
Started by the formation of the tables, over table decorations to decorating the place “up on the hill” where the ceremony would take place, food catering, wedding cake pick up, band, weather … you name it.
So, at this place a great big thank you to everybody who made this wedding such a unique experience!
Especially Duncan, Kelly and Everett Vezain for hauling all the guests up to the wedding ceremony with their horse drawn wagon and stagecoach!
The theme of the wedding – rustic western style – was fulfilled perfectly.
Tony was performing the ceremony and we had the special honor of hosting one of the native elders, Joseph Medicine Crow, who blessed the wedding rings and brought his family who performed the traditional songs and drumming rhythms of the Crow.
It was a day to remember!
The days following the wedding were as thrilling as the day itself.
We had a great time taking everybody to Yellowstone Park, see the Bar J Wranglers in Jackson Hole, WY see a rodeo in Cody and go riding here on the ranch.
